You'd be forgiven if you thought these pictures were taken on the Hatta Dam š
Nestled in the Hajar Mountains, the small town of Khorfakkan has a lot to offer visitors. From the Khorfakkan Amphitheater...
to the man-made waterfalls along the beach road...
to the lovely little park in Wadi Shees.
The missus & I absolutely loved our trip to the east coast of the UAE! The drive down the Sharjah-Khorfakkan road was really nice with the mountains dramatically opening up to the ocean as you get closer to the coast.
The highlight of our trip was Rafisah Dam.
The pedal boat ride costs 45 dhs for 2 & kayaking is only 30 dhs for 2 people compared to Hatta's 120(!) dhs for the pedal boat (which, funny enough, after talking to the security at the venue told me was both run by the same company!).
Part of Sharjah, Khorfakkan has recently seen a lot of development.
If you're a seafood lover, then the fish market has quite a few "Fish cooking" restaurants (you buy the fish at the market and they cook it for you).
If desserts & coffee are your thing, then head over to this chic little cafƩ called Lilac...
It sits at the bottom of an old fort- you can climb up there and the views are pretty nice!
I could go on and on but I'd love to see Wadi Wurrayah open to the public sometime in the future. One can dream... š
