Living a luxurious life doesn’t always mean spending a lot. You can live your own happy life simply by splurging on little things that make you feel like you’re living your own best life.

Here are my top 10 things that make me feel happy, but each costs less than 50dhs. 

1.   Fresh Flowers.

This is one of my favourites. I love seeing fresh flowers in my house. It brightens up the room and brings a sort of freshness and life to the house. You can buy them at any supermarket, but for amazing value for money, you can purchase flowers from Viva. Normally selling for between 20-30dhs for a bunch of roses. You can also purchase beautiful flowers from Kibsons. I love buying from them because I get them delivered directly to my door and wrapped like a present to myself - bliss!

2.   Spotify Subscription.

One of the best things I did was to buy a Spotify subscription. I love the fact that I have access to almost every song I could ever think of at my fingertips. Individual plans start from just AED19.99 per month.  

3.   A Sharp Knife.

I love to cook, so to make it easier and more enjoyable, a sharp knife is the best thing I can do. If you haven't yet used a sharpening service, I highly recommend it! I call Blade Runner and they come to my house to sharpen all my knives. This service costs from just 10dhs per knife. 

4.   Charging Cables.

I’m on my phone all the time, so it needs constant recharging. One of the best things I did was buy plenty of charging cables so that I can charge my phone anywhere around the house, such as in the kitchen. I like the ones from Ikea which cost just 39dhs each for 1.5m length. They always seem to last the longest in my household. 

5.   Going out for a Coffee.

Sometimes when someone else makes the coffee and brings it to you can make you feel special. Also having the coffee in nice surroundings with friends can make the whole experience that much nicer. This will cost around 20dhs per coffee depending on your location. Hamptons Cafe is just one example of great value coffee. For just 27dhs you'll get a large coffee, a glass of water as well as a fresh macaron on a tray. Everything you see in the photo below.

6.   Candles.

Now that my kids are older, I’m not that stressed anymore about having candles around in the evenings. I love the ambiance and smell in the room, it’s very calming. I love to get mine from Bath and Body Works (on sale of course) when they are around 39dhs. 

7.   Going out for dessert.

A cheap date night can consist of just going out for dessert. My husband and I sometimes go out after the kids go to bed just to enjoy a quiet dessert, just the two of us. If we don’t have time for that, we always have the option of having it delivered. 

8.   Using Fancy Toilet Paper.

A small, but very practical luxury. 3-ply, super soft by Selpak is my household’s preference. I buy it when it’s on sale from Amazon. Depending on the amount you need to purchase, I buy in bulk for about AED1.50 per roll.

9.   Identical Clothes Hangers.

Who else has been binge-watching The House Edit on Netflix?!
Identical clothes hangers is one topic that was mentioned a number of times during the show. It makes your clothes and wardrobe feel more luxurious. I got mine for just AED15 for a packet of 8 from Ikea. No need to change all at once. Buy them gradually if you don’t want to spend too much in one go. 

10. Cheese Platter.

I always have cheese ready in the fridge for an unexpected cheese night. No need to spend a lot on cheese either. You can purchase a pack from Viva for just AED17.95 for four different types of cheeses. I purchase mine from NowNow if I don’t have it handy with our extra discount code, DS.
