Step 1) Lay the groundwork / Set the scene / Mentally prepare everyone!

“So guys... I found this REALLY COOL plane crash we should check out this weekend... maybe we should go nice and early”...😝😅 (hint hint** especially you, hubby, who may be hoping for a slow / relaxing start to your weekend! 😝).

Step 2) Food is the key to success.

⭐ Option A: Prepare an incomprehensible amount of snacks & drinks...

AND/OR...

⭐Option B: For particularly grateful and happy family members, include Mc Donald’s drive-thru in your journey 🙈

Step 3) On location.

If the site is well-chosen & children are well-rested... relax & enjoy but be prepared for questions. Many, many questions. If the site is not well chosen & the children are not well-rested, prepare for minimal appreciation of said site!

Step 4). Departure.

Be prepared for the “how long till we’re home” AND/OR “can we play on devices when we get home” 🤦‍♀‍

Thankfully, the Al Awir Plane Crash IS a well chosen site which is a big hit with kids. It’s the perfect little excursion, only 30 mins from most places in Dubai, and doesn’t cost a dirham! No off-roading required but a little dirt track to make you feel like you’re out of the city! 🚙

We spent a good hour checking out the crash and surroundings. There was a biker group taking some photos when we arrived, and another car rocked up as we were leaving, but apart from that we had the place to ourselves 💫

The kids were over the moon and we got some pretty cool pics. I'm not too sure what actually happened here but rumour has it the plane hasn't really crashed but was towed to this place... well it's a great little weekend adventure anyways and not something you see every day 🐪
