If you were looking for a special breakfast this weekend, this is it!

Launched by H. M. Elizabeth II in September 1967, she carried more than 2,5 million passengers across he Atlanic Ocean until she retired in 2008.

Today, thr QE2 is a hotel with a theater, several bars and restaurants. She stays permanently in Mina Rashid and an adjacent museum tells her history.

Access to the breakfast buffet at the Lido restaurant costs 99 dhs. Kids under 6 eat free, 6-12 year olds pay 50%. Timings are daily from 7:00 to 10:30 and booking in advance is recommended, either via phone (04 5268000) or on the official website.

It's also an amazing opportunity to visit the QE2- personally I enjoyed this more than the food. Guided tours can be booked for 85 dhs/person.

Until September 19, you can pay your respects to H. M. Queen Elizabeth daily from 10 am to 6 pm.
