My kids are lucky enough to have many friends in the neighborhood. On the weekends and
often after school, they will meet in front of their houses and play together around the suburb.

Unfortunately, there have been many cars driving through the community that speed way too
fast. After witnessing two near misses I had to do something.. so I bought street signs.

I have taught my kids to put these on the street each time they go out and play
together. It has already made a huge difference with many cars slowing right down.

Just to be clear - I do not let my kids out without supervision. There is always one adult
watching the children. These signs are no guarantee that drivers will slow
down, BUT I have seen them make a huge difference and many of my neighbors agree.

If you want to know where to get a safety sign, all the information is listed here.

'Slow, Kids at Play' Street Safety Sign

This budget option is about 60cms in height and can be easily folded away when not in use. The only negative is that if it is windy it is prone to falling over.

Step2 Safety Signs with Flag

This extremely effective, but more expensive option stands at just over 80cms tall. The stand has bright colours as well as reflectors that can be seen in the dark. It is also very stable and doesn't run the risk of falling over in the wind.
