If your kids love animals then they will love this little oasis tucked away in the heart of Sustainable City. It's a perfect (and free!) activity for kids and a relaxing one for parents too. Bring your picnic mat and some food or drinks and relax while the kids feed the animals and run around on the playground.

Park your car in the car park next to Zoom. You can stop by in the store to buy any snacks, drinks, or ice cream on the way. There are also some lovely restaurants in the neighbourhood too. My favourite includes Spill The Bean where they serve delicious (and healthy!) food and coffee.

Make your way through the plaza and you'll find a large open oval alongside the animal sanctuary. You'll find several animals here including goats, donkeys, ducks, chickens, and even peacocks. This particular sanctuary is a safe haven for animals that are rescued, senior or disabled. My kids love the fact they can bring food and feed them, but there are some foods that cannot be fed and there are signs to help remind you of what they are.

Donkeys and goats can be fed:

- Vegetables (such as carrots, turnip, Pumpkin, Celery, and Lettuce)

- Fruits (such as Apples, Bananas, Pears, Watermelon, and Grapes)

- Herbs (such as Parsley, Thyme, Mint, Dill, and Basil

Ducks can be fed:

- Grapes,

- Bird Seeds,

- Lettuces Peas,

- Oats,

- Uncooked Lentils,

- Uncooked rice

Just a side note: You cannot purchase animal food on the site. You need to either bring it with you, otherwise there are some limited options to purchase food from the local supermarket, Zoom.

When packing up to go back home, please always make sure you take your rubbish with you and keep the UAE looking beautiful.
